Hooray! Tomorrow is the first day of the annual S.C. Association of School Librarians (SCASL) Conference!
I’m looking forward to:
- Presenting a session on Wednesday, March 11: TEACHING WITH GRAPHIC NOVELS
- Hearing from Gwyneth Jones (aka The Daring Librarian) and Jennifer LaGarde (aka Library Girl)
- Meeting awesome authors Chris Grabenstein (I loved his book Escape from Mr. Lemoncello’s Library), Jewell Parker Rhodes (for her novel Sugar), and Sara Pennypacker (because who doesn’t love the Clementine books!)
- An extended Book Talking workshop with Nancy Keane, author of The Tech-Savvy Booktalker: A Guide for 21st-Century Educators, among other books
- Attending SCASL’s 40th Anniversary reception
- And most importantly, learning from my fellow South Carolina school librarians who are in the trenches every day!
If you’ll be at the conference, leave a comment here or tweet me @LibraryLoriJune and let me know!
